On May 12^th, 2015 at HCM University of Technology and May 13^th, 2015 at HCM University of Technology & Education, there were signing ceremonies of cooperation agreement between ABB in Vietnam and both two universities. This agreement includes 2 parts:

• 2. All sides will give students chances to practice electrical exercises on real industrial products that ABB sponsors to Universities.

  1. ABB will build a 5-year training program to update new IEC standards and ABB latest technologies for students in universities.

Following to this, ABB sponsored Artu power distribution switch boards with the most modern technologies in order to support education.

Setting up a permanent establishment in Vietnam in 1993, ABB has taken care of Community Social Responsibility with support for various organizations in Vietnam during 20 years of our operation. We all understand that Community Social Responsibility is the key operating license of ABB in Vietnam, which pushes ABB closer toward the society and ensures our long-term development in the future. Therefore, we believe that the investment in education and future generation development is one of the main points to help ABB maintain our position in power and automation technologies.

Charitable contribution in recent years includes renovation of the Peace Village in Hanoi in 2011, equipment donation and service support to Uong Bi Hospital (2012), sponsorship for Hoang Mai Electricity (May 2013), and Tet gifts for the patients at National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (2014), helmet to kids in 2014 and 2015 in collaboration with Swedish Embassy

In our sponsoring activities, ABB is keen on cooperating with universities to develop the engineer generations through equipment donation, JDF scholarship, Internship and Graduate Engineer Program. ABB has been providing scholarship to talented student with financial difficulty, a practical working environment to fresh graduates and ….The training centre that ABB established at Hanoi University of Technology and Science since 2010 has been giving hands on experience to thousand students, customers and partners with working power and automation technology demonstrations to gain first-hand knowledge that they otherwise would only see on paper.

For 2015 sponsoring program, clearly understanding the lack of high technology learning material of students in electrical faculty, a year ago, ABB in Vietnam came up with the idea of sponsoring a completed low voltage system solution, which includes many latest equipment from ABB, for some famous technology universities. After a long time working with ABB Italy to research, design and integrate essential equipment into the system, Artu power distribution switch board that is used for education purpose only was created. This switch board not only gives students chances to practice exercises of Automatic transfer Switch (ATS), SCADA system, automatic load shedding system, control CBs via wifi, etc from the basic to advanced level but also helps them to understand about IEC standard and how to apply it to switch boards and equipment because Artu is a type-tested switch board and all inside components are followed this standard.

We strongly believe that this system will bring the reality working process to learning environment so that electrical students will have a lot of chance to approach the real tasks instead of merely theoretical study.

Participated in the ceremonies were representatives of Board of management of two universities and Mr. Axel Kalt – Country Manager, Mrs. Supattra Ramasoot – Local Division Manager of Low Voltage Products and other representatives of Low Voltage Products Division from ABB in Vietnam. Since the cooperation agreement, two parties committed to cooperate, give chances to students and lecturers of tche Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in teaching, practicing, exchanging technologies, providing internship and working opportunities at ABB in Vietnam.

This is the first phase of ABB 2015 education cooperation program with universities. In next step, ABB in Vietnam will continue to sign cooperation agreement and sponsor power cabinet system to Hanoi University of Technology with the total cost of 4.5 billion VND in June, 2015.

Therefore, I strongly believe that with the system, our students will quickly adapt to their job in the future because they already has knowledge of the most updated technology. We would like to express our special thanks to ABB for this kind support and hope that we will have more chances to work together.” Mr. Tuan Do Hong - Dean of Electrical & Electronics engineering faculty, HCM University of Technology said.
